SHORT ROUTE DESCRIPTION:

Day 1: Arrival Athens airport and transfer to the hotel. Introductions over dinner at a typical Greek traditional food and wine to the old city of Acropolis.

Day 2:  Athens- Ano Trikala  (160 km)

The first day of the journey will be challenging but rewarding, because we cross the canal of Korinthos  countryside towards Ziria Mountain, a sleeper among the local riders. After lunch we continue through curvy, pleasant streets towards the first peaks of the Ziria. We stay overnight in the Ano Trikala village. Trikala of Korinthia is consisted of three villages, Kato, Messaia and Ano, which is the largest village with an altitude of about 1100 m.

Day 3:  Ano Trikala – Elatou (260 km)

Ziria is surrounded by a number of smaller mountain ranges such as the Meteora with its famous Kalavrita. They provide us with magnificent landscapes and streets, and are the perfect playground for our bikes. Curves, asphalt and beautiful views of the Peloponnesian villages bring us to Patra and later to Nafpaktos, through the biggest gable bridge in Europe, Riou -Antiriou . Elatou is a small village where we stay for the night.

Day 4:  Elatou –  Karpenisi (150km)

Our route takes us further into the rugged mountains and canyons of Evritanias. The beautiful street in this nature park in the North of Nafpaktia is quite unique and leads us towards Karpenisi, once the capital of Evritania.

Day 5:  Karpenisi – Meteora (170km)

Although today’s program is dominated by a visit to Lake Plastira, one of the most important of Greece, we still make sure we get our fair share of biking pleasure. Our route takes us over beautiful mountain passes, through olive groves and lakes before approaching the high plateau of Meteora.

Day 6:  Meteora – Pilio (260 km)

We leave Meteora in order to fully enjoy the magnificent region of the Kalampaka. Away from the traffic, between the mountains of Olympus with the Aegean Sea in sight we start our descent along the steep roads to our stopping point in Pilio.

Day 7 : Pilio – N. Evia (240 km)

Today we ride around the mountain of Pilio. From here we climb into the Hania, a small village, where amazing views over the Agean sea surprise us before we reach the city of Volos. Away from the traffic with the Agean Sea in sight we start our descent to the Glifa from where we pass to N. Evia by ferry boat.

Day 8: N.Evia – Athens (230 km)

The N. Evia road awaits us today. The most famous road leads us into the heart of the National Park, to the highest mountain in Evia. We will have a driving and nature experience of a special kind kilometres of road.

We pass through a unique world of mountains with waterfalls, fragrant mountain forests, massive cliffs and a lot of special birds

At the end of this day of superior riding experience we reach Halkida,which is famous for its old (Sliding) Bridge Negroponte, the Strait of Euripus, where you can watch the famous tidal phenomenon which depends on the gravitational forces of the Moon! After the last break we ride back to Athens

Day 9 : Departure from Athens
